Please check here: http://www.cherishmywedding.com/category/malaysia-marriage-registration-centres/

You don't have to register at the area where you live. Anywhere will do as long it's within Malaysia. It's just a matter of convenience. Go to the link above and find out where you want to have your marriage register, I can't help much because I don't know where is your place, don't even know where is Batu Kerinchi. If you are not sure, please call up JPN HQ to ask else you can visit http://www.cherishmywedding.com/2008/08/08/useful-links-for-couples-getting-married-in-malaysia/.

Hello Chan Mu Yuen,

1. If you both are Malaysians I think you still need your birth cert. I heard that if you register it at JPN, you don't need birth cert but to be safe, have your birth cert with you.

2. I think you have to make at least 2 trips, just my guess. One time is to fill up the forms and make appointment(if appointment is needed). If no appointment needed, I guess just one time will do to submit all the necessary documents to update on your marital status in the country's database.

3. If I'm not mistaken, you have to. From what I see from my friends, they go together in all the procedures but not sure it's compulsary or not. Logically, it's compulsary.

You can look for the contact details <a href="http://www.cherishmywedding.com/category/malaysia-marriage-registration-centres/" rel="nofollow">here</a> and get the latest information about the procedures as I might be givign some outdated advise.

However, if you decided to get married overseas, you can check these articles out:

We are both living abroad and would like to clarify the following.

1. Is a birth certificate compulsory???

2. Do we need to make an appointment for the submission of papers?

3 Do we both parties need to be present to collect the certificate of approval for the marriage application?
