Jocelyn, if this is the case might as well you two register in US at the Malaysia high commissioner or embassy there means you will be the one taking time off to spend weeks in the US. If you want to register here in Malaysia, then well… I don’t think you can skip anything they require. However, they might be able to speed it up in special case then again it’s not guaranteed. Also, one of you have to change the IC address to be able to register in either Pahang or Selangor if you want to register in Malaysia.

Hi Admin,

My bf is a malaysian working in US and we plan to register soon. However, he can’t get off from work for too long, the max is 1 week, take away the time spend on flying, he only has max 5 days in Malaysia.

As i understand solemnisation only take place after 21 days from the date of application and both need to present to submit the application. Meaning to say, he needs to be around for, at least, 21 days, which is not possible.

Is there any way to go about this? Pls advise.

Anything – we are both from different state, his IC address is pahang and mine is selangor.

Hi BJ, sorry, I have no idea, I’m not in this industry or have any connection to these people. If I’m not mistaken, registering in Malaysia might need extra works and more complicated if you are marrying a woman from China. Maybe you can register in China then come back to report about your marriage to JPN in Malaysia. This should be easier. No one will care whether you have gone tru’ the custom wedding or not except your family because it’s not recognized by the law in Malaysia. All they want to see is official government documents.

No, they don’t. If you want to register on this day, you have to make arrangement with the assistant registrar which you can arrange with JPN or some associations that provide marriage registration service.

Mathu, just go to JPN and they have a list. Besides, form submission and all the other thing need to get from JPN, so during that time, ask them for it.

Jessica, sorry, no idea. Just go direct to the place you want to register your marriage and they will tell you everything since you will need to get all the forms and submit your forms and everything over there.
