Some Dressing Guides for the Groom

Some Dressing Guides for the Groom

Choosing the right attire for the groom is as important as for the bride because the groom must compliment the bride to showcase the theme of the wedding. Here’s some simple guide that might help you in considering what to wear.

Not so fast
You must consider the season and time of the day of your wedding and also your bride’s and bridesmaids’ attires because they are the key to what you should wear.

Buy or rent?
Buy a good one if you are going to wear it more than once in the future else just rent.

Suit or tuxedo?
Suit is something you can wear some other time and it’s very popular nowadays because of the usability but not tuxedo because it’s very formal. Choose them according to your needs in the future.

Shop together
It’s important for both bride and groom to shop together because this will avoid buying the wrong style and clash with the bridal and bridesmaid gowns.

Buy the right shoes
Buy comfortable, black patent leather shoes instead of boots, loafers etc.

What you should wear?

  • If you are short and broad:
  • Classic single-breasted one or two button jacket with natural shoulder line. Wear a dark colour vest will make you look slimmer.

  • If you are short and slim:
  • Two or three button jacket paired with classic tuxedo pants or pleated trousers. Best to get yours custom made because you will look out of proportion.

  • If you are tall and masculin:
  • Two or three button suit with lower collar with a deeper ‘V’ single-breasted suit and wear a vest. Stick to clean minimal design. Choose dark colours. Double breasted jackets and pleated shirts are not recommended.

  • If you are tall and thin:
  • Lucky you! You can wear almost anything. If you would like to look a bit bulkier, go for double-breasted tuxedo with broad shoulders, a slightly tapered waistline and buttons to the neck.

Hoepfully this guide can help you a bit in choosing your clothes for your big day.
